Harbor Hop Game Modes: Classic, Endless, Time Attack and More

Choose the rule you want to practice. A shorter timer is not the only difference between modes.

Harbor Hop Game Modes: Classic, Endless, Time Attack and More

The six main Harbor Hop modes change what ends a run and which mistakes matter. Use this reference for version 0.2.0; campaign stages can apply their own objectives and time limits.

Compare the main rules

Main mode rules in Harbor Hop 0.2.0
ModeTimerDecision to focus on
Classic90 secondsColor matches, combos and boat balance together.
EndlessNo timerKeep the boat afloat; capsize ends the run.
Time Attack30 secondsShort-window catching with more frequent spawns.
SurvivalNo timerA wrong-color deposit or capsize ends the run.
Hard60 secondsFish move 1.5× faster; mismatches earn zero.
Practice60 secondsBalance is off; no leaderboard submission.

For a first session: Practice, then Classic

Practice lets you isolate the gesture. Notice whether the fish follows your intended landing, rather than trying to maximize the score. Then move to Classic to add load management. Remaining indefinitely in Practice will not teach you how a full outer crate changes the boat.

For precision: distinguish Survival from Hard

Survival turns one color mismatch into a run-ending mistake. Hard allows a mismatch to land but does not award its ordinary deposit points. A wrong-color fish can still add load. Faster movement in Hard also makes a familiar swipe less forgiving. These are different kinds of difficulty, so switch according to the skill you want to develop.

For short sessions: know the stopping condition

Time Attack has a 30-second timer, but menu navigation and optional post-run decisions can add time to a session. Endless and Survival are not fixed-length break modes simply because each is easy to restart. Their runs can continue until a failure condition occurs.

Where bosses and campaign fit

Boss encounters use a separate rule set, keep balance active and have an encounter time cap. Campaign levels can override durations and ask for specific results. Do not apply the Classic 90-second rule to every campaign stage. Read the stage objective before starting and use the mode picker when you want to practice a single rule.

The beginner guide covers the basic gesture. For the combined challenge, use the Classic decision routine.
